Modern Construction is Growing Up, Not Out
As cities become more populated each year, concrete construction gets bigger and bigger. Apartment buildings are getting higher to accommodate tenants, industries are sharing commercial buildings, and craning one’s neck to see the top of one of them is becoming commonplace. The construction pattern these days is not so much out, but up. If you are in need of a Toronto Plumber to help with the construction and piping process, the experts have it covered.
Until this year Toronto’s CN Tower has been boasted as the world’s tallest freestanding structure on land at 1,815 feet, a record that has been standing tall since 1976. There are hundereds of thousands of joist hangers used in this project. But in the United Arab Emirates a construction called the Burj Dubai is going to surpass that mark by at least 800 feet. Still under construction, it is planned to be responsible for bringing a flow of tourism and commerce to the city. Admirable no doubt, and since the year 2000, other records have been broken as tallest building, or tallest supported structure. Records are one thing, but these structures all have common functions in mind, residential and commercial operation. As our world expands, our structures and living space must expand.
Construction Materials Supply
Nearly every major city in the world from an aerial view has similar elements, aside from construction signatures. Skyscrapers and towers point to the clouds, and in some cases actually touch them. Either because of or despite this similarity many of these concrete entities have specific construction that renders them recognizable from afar. A few examples of this would be the Sears Tower in Chicago, the Empire State Building in New York, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
Although many of these buildings have been in existence for several years, the pattern remains. While construction methods are improving and technology is advancing, structures are climbing.
